    As I read it, it only removes certain Microsoft programs that were installed using Windows Installer. It does not clean up other files left over in Add/Remove. If I remember, there are other "fixes" to remove those files.

  3. It doesn't remove any programs at all. It just removes the necessary registry entries so that the programs no longer show up in the Add/Remove Programs list. Any files that were installed remain on the system.

    The main reason the utility exists is to remove the information from partial installations so that new applications can be installed. It's been around for a few years and I've found it very useful. It can remove any entry from Add/Remove Programs, not just MS ones.
