I am working on a project. I edit in Final Cut Pro.
Users have submitted around 30 video clips to an event. My task is to assemble them into 1 video to be played at the event. The clips include, SD 4:3, SD 16:9, HD 720, HD 1080, and some are weird like, 864x480, 960x540.
The final export will be shown via a large movie theater projector (its an older theater and there is a good chance it is not HD, no way to verify before the event). We will use a high quality H.264 QT movie export played via a laptop.
My question is what would you advice I use for my sequence settings in FCP and what should my final output be. I am thinking of using NTSC SD 720x480. Things in 16:9 will be letterboxed. HD will just be scaled down to fit. I think that is better then scaling up the SD videos to HD dimensions. Do you agree? Any warnings you would like to give me?
Thanks!
