The specs for that model list "Built-in PAL/Secam DK, BG, I, DK TV tuners", so you are correct about there being a tuner issue.
The gray-market DVD recorder will have to be used exclusively with line inputs originating from either a VCR or the cable box, which will act as an external tuners. At worst, you may need to buy some switches to allow more inputs to the DVD recorder and/or splitters to provide more outputs from the VCR or cable box, depending on what your equipment has in the way of line-in/line out connections. -
