Hi all: I am going to add a second selectable audio track to a DVD movie. Could you experts recommend a tool to use please? Thanks

  2. 1. Demux (PGCDemux)
    2. Remux, adding in the new audio track (Muxman)
    3. Put the new DVD with the extra audio track back into the original DVD (VobBlanker)

This guide, while about adding in a new subtitle track, pretty much explains the process in more detail. Use Method 2 and ignore the stuff about the subtitles:

Don't forget to follow his link about how to update the IFOs when increasing the number of audio tracks. You'll be able to select it with the remote control. You'll even be able to make it the default audio track, if you wish. But, of course, there won't be any additions to any audio menu to be able to select it.

Others go smoothly except the step of Muxman. I put 2 audio streams in 2 separated logs, it came out only has the first stream. Did I miss any step?

How did you play your DVD? Only first audio stream come on automatically.
For second one you need either menu to point to it, or using remount to switch to second stream.

When you play the Muxman authored DVD (as a DVD, and not just the VOB files), can you select both audio tracks? If so, then it's only after replacing the DVD using VobBlanker that you lose the 2nd audio track? Did you follow the link in the guide that explains how to "turn on" the new 2nd audio track?

And if you didn't get both audio tracks in the Muxman authored DVD, was it rejected for being non-compliant? If you don't know, check the Muxman log found in the root of the "C" drive.

I don't quite understand that. You opened the first audio, and then changed the stream counter to "2" before opening the second audio, didn't you? You don't do it by hitting the "Add" button after opening the first audio stream.

In the log of Audio, I put an audio stream in the 1st stream and put the second in the second stream then click Start.
Before I burn the DVD to a dish, I open VTS_01_1 with PowerDVD, in PowerDVD, if there are more than 1 audio stream, I can change them by clicking the menu.

In the first quote you say there's only one audio track. In the second quote you (seem to) say there are both audio tracks. So I don't understand. Were you talking only about the Muxman authored DVD, and not the final DVD, after VobBlanker? I'll ask again if you followed the link in the guide to turn on the new audio track by updating the IFOs. Here's the link. You have to follow this step when you add to the original number of audio tracks:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/topic338721.html#1778185

It's talking about subtitles, but you do the same thing when adding a new audio track.

Thanks Manono, I didn't followed the guide completely, mine is not a movie DVD, mine is the video I took in mpeg format, I added 2 languages in MP3 format to the video.
I now successfully made it. I changed MP3 to AC3 with Besweet. I used Muxman to add the audio streams.
When I tested the streams before burning to DVD, there was only 1 audio stream playing.
After I burnt them to DVD, it plays on TV with 2 selectable streams.
Thanks for your help and advise!

  11. I followed the guide for adding a 2nd subtitle stream but wanted to add a 2nd audio track. I successfully added a 2nd audio track while leaving the original DVD menu and its extras intact and in working order. Woot! Great guide!!!

However, I am now a little over the size of a DVD5 thanks to the added audio track.

I do not want to compress the original title (video) but would like to shrink some of the extras to compensate for the added size of the added audio track.

I have seen this done on other custom DVD's but just cannot figure out how its done without touching the main title.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

You can do it with DVDShrink.

  13. Awesome. I did not realize DVDShrink will allow you to pick and chose what you want re-encoded and not re-encoded.

    Thank you!!!
