  1. I have an AIW Radeon, it used to work fine, just today it started not capturing the audio, and if it does its out of sync, like I said it just started doing this, I never used to have problems. Any suggestions?
    Please Help
    Thank You!

I have had this problem before. I called ATI on it and they were clueless. I figure it's a registry problem, because restoring the registry fixed it.

I have found that ATI's programs and drivers tend to easily corrupt the registry and strange stuff happens. I have had it where it would record sound but video from the composite video in instead of tuner (WTF?? I know....) and just as you describe, video from the tuner but no sound, even though you can hear it ok while it's recording it.

Don't bother calling ATI, you'll spend 45 minutes on hold on your own dime and get nothing from tech support for your troubles.

My advice is reinstall Windows and make a backup with Drive Image or Ghost.

For me, every time I start up the Digital vcr I have to turn up the mic volume every time and I can't use the line-in. I have a Aureal digital sound card.

I also just had this problem. I fixed it by downloading the beta drivers from ATI, that seemed to fix the problem for the sound and video. I also updated my drivers for my soundcard from Creative Labs and I am no longer having any problems capturing video or sound.

I downloaded the new beta drivers. They can be found at this link http://support.ati.com/drivers/winme/winme_radeon_4137115_sp.html

  8. I just spent an hour like you all said with ATI for my AIW128-16 because it would not record sound (even though there is sound during the recording process). They could not help me at all. They told me to delete registry entries and install/uninstall files.

What I did that actually worked was taking out the sound wire hooked to the AIW from my CD-Rom Drive. Forget calling ATI...no toll-free number to get something they can't answer themselves.
