I am having an issue converting a .mov with an animation codec, to a mpeg1. the problem I am running into is aspect ratio. my source file is a 720x480 file. the only issue I am having with ffmpegx is that it is refusing to convert my source file into a mpeg1 with an aspect ratio of exactly 720x480. its important I work this out as soon as possible. so if anyone knows whats going on. please let me know?

  2. MPEG1 supports square pixel encoding. I don't know ffmepegx but you should be able to specify the source is square pixel and the output should be square pixel.

But 720x480 sources are rarely square pixel. It's probably 4:3 or 16:9 DAR.
