I can't explain exactly the problem but I've uploaded the video. This lightning happens somethimes but I don't see any logic in that. Do you know what it is? This was recorded with Samsung HR773 dvd recorder.

I dropped the clip into VirtualDub and stepped through it frame by frame. I see some minor brightness changes in about the middle of that clip, but that could be from the camera metering or external reflections or even a photographers flash bulb off camera. No extreme brightness changes or any flashes that I could see in that clip.

Can you supply more information, or at least a better descripton of your 'lightning'?

Frames 17, 18 and 19 are slightly dimmer than the others. The change in brightness is causing what you see - it's kind of a reverse "lightning". Why is another question. I don't know.

  4. Given that it looks like a commercial source, I'd guess some kind of anti-copying signal such as Macrovision.

It was recorded with a dvd recorder from a satellite reciever thru a scart cabel. I don't think that it's an anti-copying signal because sometimes it happens only once in an hour, but sometimes 10 times in a hour. Don't see any logic in that. Here is an other example, maybe its better. It would be really nice if someone would know what it is.
