Ok, I have been a windows user for many years and have done all my Editing and DVD production on said platform, but somethings have come up and I now have linux on my machine. I also have a DVD I would like to make but I cant find a good program.

Can anyone recommend Linux programs or windows programs that cooperate with wine that are similar to Sony Vegas and TMPGenc DVD Author (Maybe DVD author 2 would work with wine but I cant find a copy of it).

    Thanks

DVDlab works in wine. The programs file menus don't show until you mouse over them but that's the only quirk it has. Other than that it works great.

For general editing, I would suggest kdenlive.

For dvd creation, I would suggest trying mandvd, tovid, or dvdstyler.

Along with tovid comes todisc. A very nice all in one application for encoding and authoring. Makes switched video menus in a piece of cake
Linux _is_ user-friendly. It is not ignorant-friendly and idiot-friendly.
