I have an Acer Aspire 6920 and I've ben trying to watch some mkv files using the comunity codec pack and windows media classic (already tried k-lite codec and vlc) and I always get the same problem after a wille (it's not a well defined period) the video starts to get very slow and the audio all out of sinc and it's impossible to watch.
I dont think it is because the hardware seing that it runs quite well for some time.
If anyone could help would be great.
I have Vista Ultimate 32 bits with 4gb Ram (I know)

Moving you to our software playing section as this is not a streaming issue.

I would try uninstall the codec pack and just use latest ffdshow, haali media splitter, ac3filter and play using mpchc or mpc.

Most playback issues are codec related. Since you have multiple players installed as well as a a couple codec packs, you are likely in a world of hurt trying to get it fixed. Try uninstalling all of your video players and codec packs using Add/Remove Programs. Reboot and try using an app such as CodecSniper to clean up any leftover codecs. You may also want to run a registry cleaner or two.

Then start over using Baldrick's suggestion above.
