    Hello,

Ok can't seem to figure this one out. I have a wmv file and I need to convert to .mov. So I open the file, setting to mov; dvd good; B/C-disabled; Video Encoding - x264 HQ ultra; Audio - AAC-LC ABR 128k

Run through the process file shows up and plays in Xvid4psp.

When I move to a different computer with Quicktime installed the file is recognized as a Quicktime because you see the big Q stating that Quicktime player will open to play. So I double click and error, this is not a movie file.

    Any suggestions??

Does it play in quicktime on the PC you converted it on ?

If so it is a codec or quicktime version issue.

If not, trying outputting to the MP4 container instead. Quicktime should also play this. I suspect that it is a quicktime issue though.

  3. Yep, it's a QT issue; and I think the "mov" profile is broken in xvid4psp. It doesn't wrap in the .mov container properly

You can playback h.264/aac in .mp4 with QTPlayer, but it is limited in playback compared to better software players. It doesn't support all the higher quality features that x264 has to offer.

You have to make these adjustments: AVC Profile to Main (instead of high), b-frames 1, diasable b-pyramid, disable b-pyramid, disable I8x8, disable adaptive DCT, disable mixed reference frames. You might want to save this profile for future use.

Or you can use ripbot264 or MeGUI which have compatible profiles, but neither support exporting .mov container

I did the above; You had disable b-pyramid twice, correct or mistake?

I changed all the settings and it still says it is not a movie file, maybe I missed something.

To the above poster, the movie file can play on the computer in quicktime with Xvid4PSP so I know it probably is a codec. I just need it so that it can play on a regular computer with only quicktime installed.

Also, haven't done the mp4 as of this post, will do next

    Thanks again
