Settings for BD to AVCHD

Hi!
I am not sure this is in the right forum. Sorry if not!!!

I´m currently working on a BD to AVCHD conversion of Ironman.
I reencode the video with Mencoder to fit a DVD-9 and mux it together with TsMuxeR. In short..
I´ve done this before with Hitman with very good results, playing it on my PS3.
This time I get the sound but no video and after searching around I think the bitrate peeks too high.

To keep it down I am now about to use the vbv_maxrate and vbv_bufsize.
However I don´t know what to set them at..
I get different values at different sources. Some say the max bitrate for AVCHD is 25000. Some say 18000. And even som say that Sony (PS3) want it as low as 17000 Kbps.
And about the buffsize, I don´t have a clue. Found the value of 14475 somewere, but I really don´t know what it does.

Can anyone point out the right direction for me?

Something wrong with bd rebuilder? You don't have to configure all x264 settings then....or else try search in the doom9 forum.
