  1. this is really driving my ass on fire.
i'm tying to install win mE from scratch(not an upgrade) on my old comp so i can network. I insert the boot disk in floppy, cd in cd rom drive and when i run set up, these goddamn messages pop up.
    something along the lines

    "no drives found abort"
"no valid fat or fat32 partition"
    "Device driver not found. 'mscdoo1'"
"No valid cd rom device driver selected"

i try partioning the drive fdisk command no success.
format c: does not seem to function as i hope it would.

    c: drive is accessible
    a: drive is accesssible
d: invalid drive or something like that.

So i have concluded that the problem lies with this "mscdoo1" driver which i have never encountered before, and can't friggin seem to find.

Sorry guys about the long post, but any help is much appreciated.

  2. Is the boot diskette you are using the Microsoft boot floppy that came with ME?

This might tell you something useful:

As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
