im trying to convert a movie from xvid to h.264, and when i get to the final step and hit start is just says error. not whats wrong, not why, just error.

i dont know what im doing wrong, ive been trying to encode this damn thing for a week now. mediacoders crop feature wont work, and megui gives me this unknown error.

i made a script, cropped it, analyzed it, everything was fine. loaded the script in megui and set my desired bitrate and chose automated 2pass, with turbo checked. it enques fine, but when i press start, it jsut says error.....

does anyone have any idea whats wrong? ive got k lite codec pack installed so i cant believe it would be anything like that.

also, it gives the same errors on differerent bitrates, quantizer based, and even on a different video

OK i fixed it, and made my first sucessful conversion!

When I open the file with Gspot it doesn't show me any info though, it jsut says its an mkv file, nothing about fps bitrate, nada

its an x264 encode, nothing special

anyone know why it may not be showing the details? and how to see them in maybe another proggie?
