See Subject. My Nero 7 seems to have problems even starting up. I just replaced 6 with it. Win XP user. What's available to burn a single file?

The only warning I have about ImgBurn is that it can be tricky to try to burn data CDs (not DVDs but specifically CDs) when you have music source files such as MP3, FLAC, etc. ImgBurn seems to default to trying to turn these into audio CDs and we've gotten a lot of posts from newbies who've had problems with this. ImgBurn is fine for DVDs, whether you want data discs or video DVDs.

I've used Imgburn on one occasion recently, but when I looked at the guides for it, I didn't see CD capabilities.

I surprised myself recently to discover that I could burn a CD with WMP and put data on it. In this case, it was a wmv file. Tricky navigation, but it did work.

For music CDs, there are likely better burning programs, but for just data, it works fine. But just about any burning program can do CD data discs. From the ImgBurn toolpage:
ImgBurn can write most types of CD/DVD/Blu-ray/BD images and it supports all the latest writers...

BurnAware -- excellent CD audio freeware
    CDBurnerXP
    InfraRecorder
ImgBurn -- best for DVD, so-so for non-data CD

For payware, I also use Prassi ONES

Nero 6 is only installed on one computer now, the rest all use the above freeware, or ONES.
