I seem to have an inconsistent problem where the times in the saved .srt file are different to those displayed via the DVDSubEdit gui; they can end up 30 secs before or after (usually before) the correct time. Am i doing something wrong/stupid that is causing this?

Randomly '30 secs before or after' or with a 'stable' offset for the whole movie or with increasing/decreasing time lag towards the end of the movie?

May be a 'flaw' in the authoring application. But this can easily be changed. Which one have you used to create the DVD?

If it is HD material, I have no idea (actually I don't have any experience with HD DVDs). On a normal DVD, there are no subtitles in a 'readable' format like srt, only sup. If we talk about normal DVD, then where did you get the srt file? Or did you 'create' it yourself via subrip or similar?
