Hi there,
I have just bought a Canon XH A1 and am trying to capture HDV to FCP. It plays back fine through the camera, the firewire and settings are all fine but the FCP playback quality is awful. It keeps dropping frames and looks like I shot in slow mo half the time. I'm using Mac OS X 2.2 GHZ 2 GB and capturing direct onto a 500 GB hard drive.
I understand that it is possible to edit like this and that the final output will be fine but is there another solution? I am using the HDV easy set up 1080p25 (I shot in 25fps) and it all works fine in my friends studio. I am sure I'm missing something simple any advice would be great.
Thanks
