    Hi everyone,

I'm a hypnotherapist and am interested in adding single JPG pictures and splice them into different types of movie formats for only a fraction of a second.

I have only limited knowledge of movie editing but would welcome any help that you might be able to give me.

I hope you can advise me of free software or at least cheap software that would be easy to use for this purpose.

    Many thanks in advance

Darren Brown, is that you? Or perhaps Tyler Durden? Welcome to the forums!

I suppose the easiest free method to do that would be with an app like virtualdub. You'd have to cut the main video file in pieces, then reload these pieces with the still "subliminal" frames in between them. The still frame would have to be a .JPG or .PNG with the same dimensions as the rest of the video. Then you would re-encode this back into a single file.

Pretty much the same concept but more GUI oriented would be to use an app like Vegas Movie Studio, which would make the process a bit more "drag n drop". For sheer ease of use, I'd consider this route. It lets you lay down multiple video tracks on a timeline, so you can add the subliminal frames anywhere you want.

You've got a bit of a learning curve ahead of you. It's really not very difficult, unless you're just starting out.

Thank you for the kind, speedy and informative answer to my question.

I will get a copy of Vegas Movie Studio and will probably be back on the forum to ask some newbie questions.

    Kind thanks
