First off, thanks for the help I've gotten off this site in the past.
Now the matter at hand is that I have a ViXs PureTV-U 48B0 (NTSC/ATSC Combo) in my HP m9000t desktop. Mostly my problem is that I can't get audio from programs while I can get video. It'll just show my internal sound cards, but not an option or a choice to record from card. Running on Vista-P 32x
My experiences with several programs:
DVIO - Crashes immediately.
WinDV - Can't find DV output pin.
BTWincap - Streams video, no sound.
CaptureFlux - Freezes when I click the video source settings button.
VirtualDub - Giant Gray Box/Doesn't display anything/Unable to capture.
Virtual VCR - Streams video, no sound again.
SageTV - Streams video and audio, but lags terribly.
VLC - Minuscule but noticeable lag, no sound.
AMcap - audio is buggy at times, but perfect regardless sans the timeout.
Are there anymore free options I can choose before I shell out 20bux for AMcap?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

As for ViXs PureTV-U do keep in mind that this card is a Hardware MPEG Encoder and it a Dual Tuner design and was design windows media center there not much in way of 3rdparty support
DVIO - Crashes immediately.
WinDV - Can't find DV output pin.
BTWincap - Streams video, no sound.
CaptureFlux - Freezes when I click the video source settings button.
VirtualDub - Giant Gray Box/Doesn't display anything/Unable to capture.
Virtual VCR - Streams video, no sound again.
AMcap - audio is buggy at times, but perfect regardless sans the timeout.
And Hauppauge card and are the only that have costom AMcap for there Hardware MPEG Encoder
All software you list above was design for AVI or DV capture
VLC - Minuscule but noticeable lag, no sound.
Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-250 and WinTV-PVR-350,
Visiontech Kfir
And mainly Linux base app
SageTV - Streams video and audio, but lags terribly.
Have try replay back the Video clip and do they have sound? even if it lags terribly.
SageTV may work but it mostly need some Tweaking
Have you try GB-PVR ? -
If you want to capture audio, must go to the properties of your audio control and select the record option and on the controls select "stereo mix" or "what you hear" depending on your options and hardware then other programs will get a feed from audio and your software can record. If you have never setup your capture card some needs an audio connection plugged into your sound card line in.

I apologize for bringing this topic back to light, but I ended up using a converter for the red and white composite wires to the line-in of my desktop.
However, when recording video it's always laggy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DICam9xwWck is a video I recorded via FME using this method.
I also recorded a video using VLC using this method and the same thing happens.
However when using something like AMCap or WMC there's no problems.
I just can't save videos with them.
Any help at all? -
Your supposed to connect the audio cables to the video capture device, not the computer.
All hardware MPEG encoding devices are laggy. What you see on the screen is usually about half a second behind what's going into the recording device. This buffering is to make sure the display remains smooth. You can't play games by watching what's going on on the computer screen. You need to split the video signal and run one output to a realtime display device (TV) for playing, and the other to the capture device.
