  1. I have both the Philips UK version , 3570 and the North American Version, 3576, its like night and day.

    The NA version is fast, responsive, the uk one slow and annoying.

    Hang on, did I just descrive the dvd recorders or the inhabitants !

    lordsmuf what are u running with your philips, dishnetwork/directv/etc and does it record any channel
    Digital cable via front composite
    + Analog cable via coax
    + Analog QAM (HD channels) on same coax

    It does an excellent job of recording SD or HD material (to normal DVD resolutions, of course)

    It even makes 352x480 16:9 discs (although the 16:9 flag is not set, must do it on a computer with a re-author, if you plan to keep the material at this size, and play on players that cannot understand 352x480 4:3-flagged 16:9). I don't do this often, usually long sports events like Super Bowl or World Series, where one disc is fine, quality not highest priority (HD feed highest priority).
