I have both the Philips UK version , 3570 and the North American Version, 3576, its like night and day.
The NA version is fast, responsive, the uk one slow and annoying.
Hang on, did I just descrive the dvd recorders or the inhabitants !

It does an excellent job of recording SD or HD material (to normal DVD resolutions, of course)
It even makes 352x480 16:9 discs (although the 16:9 flag is not set, must do it on a computer with a re-author, if you plan to keep the material at this size, and play on players that cannot understand 352x480 4:3-flagged 16:9). I don't do this often, usually long sports events like Super Bowl or World Series, where one disc is fine, quality not highest priority (HD feed highest priority).Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
