Problems with Subtitle Workshop

I ever worked with Subtitle Workshop properly.
But I upgrated my hardware and I have reinstalled my Windows Xp and every programs.
Ever since I don't succeed many times to work with SW. Sometimes the program works well with some movies , other times it blocks with other movies.
What's that?

What do you use to decode the movies? A codec pack or ffdshow or? I would try ffdshow if you haven't already.

I use a codec pack.
I'm going to experiment ffdshow.

I uninstalled the codecs pack and I installed ffdshow, as you said and it worked.
