I searched the forum here and found what I thought I needed - to get subs to show in an avi. I have enabled the preference in both Perian and QT, but the subs still do not show.

    QT 7.5.5 and Perian 1.1.3

    Have I missed something?

  2. the .srt and the .avi must have the same name (but a different extension ) and must be in the same folder
    did you do this?

and… prefs Pane > Perian: did you check "enable subtitles"?

    bye

Yes the names are identical with different extensions and in the same folder and subtitles are enabled in both Perian and QT.

Wondering if maybe there were more than one .srt files and the wrong one was included. There are subtitles but not for speech, they are for like when and where the scene is taking place - these are occasional, as the movie progresses.

Edit: No, I dragged the srt from the folder and played in QT and MPlayer, both still show the dates and locations of the scene.
