About 20 million of CC shares went from $5.75 to $0.01. That alone smokes [s:ba0e6a6ea3] $118 million dollars[/s:ba0e6a6ea3].

  5. That was just the number of shares that traded in a single day. The real loss figures are much greater. The total number of shares is 168 million and the float is 108 million shares. And the price peaked at over $30 a share back in June of 2006. Everyone that owns shares now loses their entire investment.

Wait a minute: I thought you were on the record as being very unimpressed with them. (Or am I thinking of someone else ?) I always really liked their selection, although not that often their prices. Their salespeople -- at the one I've gone to, at least -- were always much more knowledgeable than most anyone you'd find at BB, CC, or Fry's. No contest: if I had the choice, I'd usually rather go to a MicroCenter than to a Fry's. But their business model is just these few scattered regional locations. If you have to drive less than 45 minutes to get to the nearest one, you are unusually fortunate. For me, it's more like an hour -- or much worse, depending on the traffic.
When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.

  8. CircuitCity is the only company get even bad press at liquidation. Really sad.

The parking lot of the C.C. was full when I drove by. The real deal was actually down the street at Office-Depot. TV, PC, ... are at 25~30% off.
