You may have heard about the parts problems that are shaping up in the auto industry- several outfits like Johnson that make dash instruments or tail lights or seat parts are closing shops or closing altogether. This can create a shortage of certain parts which in turn can shut down an assembly line or another whole business sector- its happening here in West Michigan now.
There is a parallel situation with Chinese suppliers of computer gear, but we don't hear much about it. I've noticed here recently that some things aren't going on sale, and some things aren't being replaced on store shelves, and two suppliers are themselves gone.
Not a crisis yet, but if you are totally dependent on a particular item, it might be wise to stock up for the time being...

I think I'm set.
I've got 4 cases of bottled water, 8 cases of Hormel chili, 6 rolls of duct tape, and 3000 square feet of heavy-duty plastic wrap.
Add in the S&W .44 Mag and 2000 rounds of ammo and I think I should be A-OK."To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright
