Total Newbie (TWAT)

Please help me. I dont understand!! I have Lord of the Rings on so say VCD (Verbatim CD-R). My DVD is Panasonic RV20 which will only play CD-RW. Which files from the VCD do i need to copy to the CD-RW to make it play. I have tried everything, do i need to copy the whole disk or just the DAT files??? Could you tell me which file extension is VCD format, or is it a multiple of files to make it work???????? Lord of The Rings disk contains 5 folders and i dont no what is what. Please help
