  1. I just want to make sure I'm doing this right.

I want to burn an authored video and have some other folders and files outside the VIDEO_TS folder. I used build mode and added the VIDEO_TS and other files and then create an ISO. Is this the right process so my disc will play as normal and have those extra data files for access on PC?

  2. Yes and if ImgBurn asks you "is this folder the root directory" answer no.

    Yes

Choose "create image file from files / folders" and add as you go (main dir's and files)... it will only ask about the padding for the dvd video side.

  4. If it doesn't ask anything before I build should it matter? I made the ISO and burned a copy and it is acting goofy when I try to play it. I burned a test copy with Nero from the same VIDEO_TS folder earlier and it plays fine.

Depends where this problem is ... make sure audio_ts folder is included as some players tend to be a bit off if this folder isnt present ... as for pc's side, it depends on the systems default options as to what it will do when this disc is inserted.

As for pre-test ... get yourself a copy of a cd/dvd emulator such as magiciso, Alcohol 52% or clonecd's (drive has sheep icon ... very funny) ... you can mount the iso for testing before burning it.

If you included dvd video files you would have got the padding message.

As for imgburn vs nero ... you might be the first in sometime to have had nero win ... most have thrown it by the side in favor of imgburn.

Curious ... did nero throw an audio_ts folder in when burning ???

  6. The copy with Nero was just a test to see if I had the connections, menus, and such right. I always burn final copies with ImgBurn.

The first one that messed up I opened ImgBurn and chose "create image file from files / folders". I added the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and a couple other files and folders. Then I created the ISO and burned it. The DVD has a first play video that took a while to load and stuttered on that copy. So I was looking in the options for ImgBurn and there is a "Create AUDIO_TS folder" checked. I tried remaking the ISO without including my own AUDIO_TS folder and it seems to work.

As for Nero, it does include an AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folder. You just open your VIDEO_TS and drop the files into the Nero window.
