I bought a Bandbridge DVI switch so I can use my PC monitor and my PS3. I have two outputs on my video card 1 DVI and the other VGA. I use the PC monitors for coding and to have a bigger desktop.

But when the DVI is switched to my PS; Vista after a short while switches all over to the VGA output.

    How can I stop this?

It's a total pain because I have to set-up the display settings in Vista each time I want to go back to use my PC and use my 2 monitor.

Let me get this straight. You have a DVI output from your PC and from your PS3 going to a DVI switch. The output of the switch then goes to your monitor. You also have the VGA output of your video card connected to a 2nd monitor.

So whenever you change the DVI switch to connect your PS3 to the first monitor, Vista changes the video settings? I doubt you can stop it if you happen to be using the PC at the same time. Vista only has the VGA connection when you change the DVI switch to the PS3, so it is updating to reflect your "current" setup.

If you have a decent monitor with dual inputs, you could simply use the monitor to control which input you are watching. Vista isn't likely to change in that case because it can still see the monitor is attached.

Some active switches maintain the connection handshake when other inputs are selected. Passive switches can't do this. This is a classic issue with KVM switches as well.
