I tried converting the avi files with divx 7 , and sometimes it doesn't convert any files, can someone please tell me how to use divx 7 the right way? Sometimes it even makes the video go quicker

Why are you converting? What is your goal with the divx file? Avi files could aldready be in divx/xvid formats. And I also doubt that divx converter supports all video sources so you might have try other converters like avi divx/xvid converters like winff, super,xvid4psp.

Well my goal is to see how good the divx 7 is, they have that HD plus profile, so I thought I'd try it out with some HD videos I got, so I thought I'd try it out, so I should dl Divx 7 and then use programs that support divx 7?

Divx7 uses the Mainconcept h.264 encoder and the MKV container.
