Well I ended up buying a Wii after all.
I got it for 25.00 at a garage sale. Not bad.
I'll pick up Tales of Symphonia A new Dawn over the weekend.
I also do like Ni No Kuni. I'm 7 or so hours in and I'm at trials now. You do get a companion along the way, I wasn't too surprised about that.
So all in all a good deal.

That's a sweet deal for a Wii!
If you can't find an affordable copy of Dawn of the New World, leme know; you can borrow my copy.
Oh and iirc, if you stick your GC memory card (with game save data from Symphonia 1 on it), you get to start out Dawn of the New World with some free goodies. You'll' have to check gamefaqs for more details about that, though.
I'm still stuck in Ni No Kuni, on that part where ya gotta use both analog sticks, in the falling bridge area.
Next time my niece comes to visit, I'll see if she, or my sister, can get past that part, for me.
They've come by a number of times already, but I kept forgetting to ask them to help me with that game. XD
We usually go to a theme park, or to another planned outing, when they come by to visit...Last edited by Joe The Dude; 7th Jul 2013 at 15:23.

@joe the dude - check your pm for other conversations I have to discuss with you
I just got past that part on ni no kuni your talking bout - the trials. The wits trial I did have to go online for the last one. But I did try a bunch of times on it so I didn't give up easily. I'm now on the boss battle for the trials
I have Tales of Xillia on preorder - august 6th
---------------
I bought Tales of Symphonia new dawn online. I should get it Thursday. I tried three or four different stores in person and no luck. Oh well.
Thanks for reminding me about the clear data on the memory card. I do have the wii that can play gamecube games
Thanks again.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Tomorrow is the big day!
I read some rumors on GameFaqs today, saying that some Best Buy stores were putting out Xillia early, so I drove by two of them, after work, but no luck.
I did pre-order the Limited Edition (The cheaper one that has the 2 Free Exclusive Costumes) from Amazon, but they haven't given me a tracking number yet. From what I've read, they probably already shipped it out, and their tracking number relay thing is sometimes delayed by about 24 hours.
Even so, I'm really looking forward to this game; I haven't really gamed much since Tales of Symphona II on the Wii.
I still haven't beaten Symphona II (Dawn of the New World).
I'm probably going to put it up on eBay in a few days, since the HD Remeake "Tales of Symphonia Chronicles" comes to the US in March of 2014. XD
Oh, and I read that the American Version of Xilla has the original japanese song for the Opening Movie; they didn't engrish it, like they did for Vesperia and Graces:F.
Like Graces: F, it looks like they aren't gonna make a strat guide for it either, and it'll be a while before there's a compete guide on GameFaqs. However, they have a "Missables" FAQ for the stuff that might be missed (extra items, sidequests, and so on).
When you first start Xilla, you get to chose between Milla Maxwell's Story, and the Guy's (Jude's?) Story.
I'm not sure if it's set up like Wild ARMs, where each character gets a prologue, or if the two paths have different, or divergent, results/storyline.
I guess we'll find out in a few days!Last edited by Joe The Dude; 5th Aug 2013 at 21:09. Reason: they're their there

I don't think I"ll sacrifice my extra 2tb for that purpose after all if I can only use 32gb on it. I have another drive I'll work on for it.

I am still at that trials boss on ni no kuni and I haven't played it in awhile. I also haven't played Dawn of the New World in awhile either.
And to top it off I've tried to start playing the guitar again - a cheapie acoustic I bought on ebay quite a few years ago. I think I posted about it here when I got it, the post is probably still here.
I"m using youtube tutorials to try to start playing BAD by U2. I'm going to try to stick with it this time, albeit at the expense of some gaming time.
Plus I"m encoding a bunch of anime blurays I've bought recently so I can watch em on my tablet. And I'm gonna encode a few anime dvds that I haven't watched yet.
Edit - forgot to mention I did pick up Xillia the limited edition today. It was the version you got when you preordered at gamestop. It has the character book, a costume upgrade and the soundtrack cd.
I was planning on playing it tonight but I want to get another encoding session started and on my aging dual core pc that takes awhile to setup (with all the demuxing with ripbot264 per title that is). Of course I let it run overnight but I have to get it setup just so.
I will like Xillia I'm sure but the intros take forever in a jrpg and the first save point could be a long ways away and I don't want to start the intro all over again. So I'll wait to start it.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
If you pause Xillia for a long time, when you start playing again, something funny happens.

Sounds similar to the 2011 Muppets bluray
I've only played just over an hour and half or so so far. I do like it. The linked battle option is interesting.
I must say I have gotten to admiring the Milla character for obvious reasons (certain attributes I mean)
And actually I like that the game characters are a bit older than is usual for jrpgs.
At first the Milla voice actress sounded kind of flat but I've started to realize that must be intentional. As the character is becoming "more human" so to speak the voice acting is changing.
I'm glad they kept the in-game animated comic strips - well not really comic strips but the pop up bubble talkie scenes. Those are nice ways to do mini-cutscenes but not draw it out too long. And it ads to the story background too without being overly verboseDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
I finally got the forth party member yesterday evening, in Tales of Xillia.
One of the after-battle victory things, with Jude and the 4'th party member, had us both ROTFL!
Spoiler-Free Hint: It's the one where Jude has a hard time talking.... -
4th party member?
I'm still in chapter one - Alvin just left the group after getting paid - I got the name right didn't I?
I've actually spent my free time this week starting back up on the guitar. Doing basic chords and all that.

Like with Graces: F, you can press Select during battle, to change from Semi-Auto, Manual, and Auto, battle modes.
The D-Pad (for linking the main with others) also works in all battle modes, even full Auto. -
Oh yeah, and be sure to log in to the PSN's Store.
They have a couple of additional Tales of Xillia DLC freebies on there. -

Well it's been a long time since I have posted in this thread. I have been busy with my guitar practice.
I haven't played a game since I've bought it.
I do have a Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag preordered and I'll pick that up Tuesday night. I'm looking forward to that. I really enjoyed the naval combat in Assassins Creed 3. I expect that to be the same and intensified in this one.
So I'll have 4 games in total that I really want to finish:
Tales Of Graces F (still have the Little Queen to beat to completely finish the game)
Ni No Kuni
Tales of Xillia
Assassins Creed 4 - Soon to own.
I'll probably race through Ac4 as I have done with the last several AC games. I just get sucked in and want to get to the end. But those are games that I don't really want to leave since they are so good but i don't really have a reason to go back to once i finish the story. I must admit I haven't really tried any of the multiplayer in AC.
So I think I'll be balancing my guitar time with my game time now that AC 4 is almost here.
I really liked Arkham Asylum and Arkham City but I am not rushing to get the newest Origin one just yet. I have too many backlogged games to get through first.
Also I have just really started to learn U2's BAD on guitar. This is the one that really inspired me to get back to learning guitar and why I bought the electric. I want to master this one.
I've really covered most of the sections of Summer of 69. I just haven't pieced it all together yet. I want to take a break from that song and learn the one that i've really wanted to play ever since I started watching those cover versions of U2's BAD on youtube earlier this year.Donatello - The Shredder?
