    I can't convert security cam files recorded on a NPATROL DVR in AVI format. I assume it's a proprietary codec causing the trouble. Any ideas?

    normally you have to use the software provided with the security system. it is a design feature so no one can view/convert the videos if they aren't the rightful owner.

    Do you know what codec the .avi is using. I've been able to convert several avi's from various dvr systems to dvd.
