    Pretty much new on how to go about this, tried searching quite a bit and can't seem to find a consolidated solution to what I'm looking for..

    First off it seems to be a big issue, I just want to note that everything I'm going to be doing is 100% legal/legit

    Right now I'm trying to find the fastest way to convert DVDs into raw MPEG2 (.mpg) formats with audio and video merged and upload them to a server with a transcoder that will stream them for a VOD website.

    The people we're working with doesn't seem to have a better solution than the one they instructed me to do so:
    Basically I get the DVD, pull the .VOB files out of it with DVD Decrypter, then use an old old old Womble MPEG-VCR(I think version 3.14 or something) program they provided me to view, cut each part by scene and then encode it to MPEG-2 Program stream. (I do love the batch feature).

    If any of you can offer a faster solution especially something that can be batched processed that'd be great. Or even a good program that I can buy that would get the job done (also one that takes advantage of multi-core cpu comps if it matters).

    However that's just the first part of my job, the 2nd(not as urgent) would be then encoding the said files with Windows DRM technology for download rental purposes. What program would be reommended of doing that in batch and also taking care of multi core cpu techonology?

    Any feedback would be great and thanks for taking the time to read this.

    Thanks for the reply;

    I would definitely need to cut it in parts like I do with MPEG-VCR from the VOB files. Just wondering if there's a faster process of ripping/cutting/encoding(?) than what my partner proposed.

    I'm curious how companies like vod.com get their VOD movies from DVD to their servers so quick in batch.. that's what I'm trying to accomplish...

    Maybe it's quick because they have so many people working on a batch of movie? hmm :P
