    i want to split a mpeg in 2. in tmpgenc i cut from start to halfway fine, and want to do halfway to end. i select the timings and output and when i start it says seeking file. it then proceeds to take bloody ages. i think it wants to merge. someone help! if not tell me a foolproof program!

    If you are talking about a Mpeg1 file:

    you did it just right. Be patient. Go, and drink a cup of coffee, when you return after 5 minutes, the second Mpeg file is created.

    If you are talking about a Mpeg2 file:

    Use BBmpeg
    The Dutchman
