    Hi,

    I'm using a computer with K-lite codec pack. I went to ffdshow folder and there is no executable, just the .ax and the .dll files.

    There is a way to open ffdshow configuration screen without opening a movie which uses ffdshow and then going to the tray icon that opens automatically? In ohter words, I would like to know how to call the ffdshow config screen independently if I'm runing a video or not.

    Thanks in advance

    If k-lite installs FFDShow correctly then you should have configuration entries in the start menu. If not, well, that's k-lite for you.

    Ditch the codec pack, install FFDShow yourself, and you won't have these problems.

    I know I will get a nice executable for the config screen if I install later versions of ffdshow, but I'm just with this curiosity about how to call the ffdshow config screen without having an executable file.

    I won't change the system state here because the computer is not mine and is working fine in this state.

    Try this from start->run

    for DirectShow rundll32.exe ffdshow.ax,configure
    for Audio rundll32.exe ffdshow.ax,configureAudio
    for VFW rundll32.exe ff_vfw.dll,configureVFW

    Wow, that worked!!! Thanks!! The only thing that has to be changed is to put full path of ffdshow inside inverted commas.

    Just like this:

    rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\K-Lite Codec Pack\ffdshow\ffdshow.ax", configure

    Thanks again

    Only because you are using a codec pack. Otherwise FFDShow would be where it is supposed to be.
