  2. Are you sure that you can't change a setting on your hardware player so that it forces output in PAL?

  3. Hey Michael

I only have an regular DVD Player not a DVD ROM - my dvd is connected to my television (Philips) and my tv not supports NTSC. So if i only could convert the discs (now Super-vcd NTSC in to PAL Super-vcd discs) my tv should be able to show the colours now it's Black and White because of the lack of support of NTSC - my DVD support NTSC but my tv dosen't

    Kind regards

Are you sure you have a FULLY populated SCART-cable? Cheap SCART-cables sometimes leaves out the pins for enabling NTSC on PAL-TV-sets. I had the problem you describe, B/W-strange resolution, on NTSC-discs. I tried to convert my NTSC VCD's to PAL with no great luck (It's quite a lot of fiddeling). So, I would recomend that you visit your TV-shop tomorrow and buy a full-SCART-cable (make sure all 24pins are connected) and try. If that works, you will have saved yourself A LOT of headache. And your Philips TV-set probably supports NTSC, unless it's more than 10 years old!

  6. Phones,

Take out the user's manual of your DVD player and read it thoroughly.

Most DVD players you can set up so that it will force output to PAL or NTSC.
