DVD to CD: how do I rip DVD to make a CD?

I have done this with an early version of Nero(4), I have not touched Nero in over a year and now have nero9. I tried creator 9 and moviai. How can I rip a DVD and create a Cd from it?

I do not think Nero can rip DVD. You need a ripper and than Nero,if you wish, to convert to mpeg4 to fit on CD.

I never updated from Nero 6 as newer versions have nothing I need, but every version of Nero I ever had did not have a ripper. There are various free rippers such as DVDFab HD Decrypter available.

Note that tinker's reply and mine assume that you want to rip a movie and convert it to MP4. If what you really want to do is rip the audio only, such as from a concert DVD, and create an audio CD, then this advice won't apply. We should have guides on converting DVD to audio CD. Look in the Guides section.

Thanks, what I want is to rip the audio from a mini cam recording made in church. I can make DVDs all day long, but want to also make CDs from the same recording.

In that case just hook up audio output from camcorder into a sound card input and record sound only. For this Nero is fine.
