    i download some movies from the internet and their .iso format.
    how do i play them on dvd player?

    their about 5gb each. so im guessing it dvd format already.

    do i have to encode to play on dvd player or can i just burn directly? thanks for all help

  2. .iso is a disc image. use imgburn to write to dvdr.

    It's members like this that cheapen this forum...

    Nevertheless, to make it worthwhile for those actually interested in the ISO format as a productive tool, instead of something you want to play downloaded from some bittrorrent site, think of it as a "digital DvD" designed to make your computer think it's a real physical DvD, but you don't have to go through the trouble of actually burning one. You can keep one as a Master from your productions for subsequent burns, or create one just for testing (without burning a "real" one, yet).

    An app like Daemon Tools, which is a "digital DvD drive" was also designed to make your computer think it's a real DvD drive - and you can just load ISO discs into it like any player.

    Some software, like VLC, just play ISO files straight without any loading or installing of any image drive.
    I hate VHS. I always did.
