    Hi everyone,

I would like to know how to make QuickTime playable files with Avidemux. I am having an AppleTV with a extra software installed containing QuickTime and mplayer. However, I am not able to create an mp4 (or mpg) file that plays well (neither in mplayer or quicktime). Also when I am testing to plaqy the file on the PC in QuickTime I only get audio. Anyone who knows the magic profile settings for Quicktime?

    Best regards,

    Menno

Any particular reason for using AVI Demux to do this ?

Xvid4PSP has Apple TV profiles already set up. You could either using this to do the encoding (high quality encoder as well or at least look at the settings it uses.

By default, Avidemux makes an mp4 with an AVC level 5. That's too high for quicktime to handle. Quicktime prefers level 3.0 or so. Probably the easiest way to create a compliant quicktime mp4 with Avidemux, is to use the PSP template, then edit the resolution and settings.

Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
