Hello,
I have a Canon HV30 camcorder. With this camcorder, I can record HDV with 50i or 25p. However, since I do not have a Blu-ray burner/player yet, I cannot experiment with the different settings. I plan to buy such a player within a year.
To select the best setting for the camcorder at the moment, I hope to get some advice.
First of all, I use Pinnacle Studio 12 for making movies. Does Pinnacle support both 50i and 25p for making Blu-ray discs? How can I see in Pinnacle whether a scene is 25p or 50i, or do I have to indicate which format is used? Is it possible to make a Blu-ray disc in which the two formats are present?
Secondly, my new TV is capable of displaying both 1080i (50Hz) and 1080p (25 or 50 Hz). Which is the best format in this situation?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about Pinnacle questions but I recommend you shoot normal handheld camcorder material in 50i. 25p requires tripod or other support and film school shooting technique. If you don't follow the rules, 25p video will appear jerky and unwatchable on a large HDTV.
