I've been looking around the forums and don't see my issue addressed; sorry if it's been discussed and I missed it. The problem is this: when I convert certain downloaded AVI files to DVD format using Toast 9, the disc image, and disc itself, play fine on my computers, but when I play them in a standalone DVD player, the video appears as a small (about 1/4 of the TV screen) almost square image at the top left corner of the screen. The file info in Apple DVD Player shows that the file is 720 x 480, 16:9 aspect ratio, all looks good. What gives? Thanks!

  2. are you sure you selected DVD output?
...seems to be the behavior of a SVCD with a non-compatible DVDReader

    (my 2 cents)

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the output is definitely DVD, and both my standalone players will handle SVCD format anyway, so I don't think that's the issue.

double-click on an .IFO file to open your disc in it
select your "VTS 1" (top left)
(middle bottom) select vertical slider "VTS 1"
…what is the "Resolution" of your stream? (give all informations too, maybe it can be usefull)
