Hello everyone![]()
Ok. I got an idea. Actually, ideas.., for a Video Editor application for AVIsynth scripting.
Yes. I realize that there are already several available. And that's great! But because I mostly work inside windows 98 and most tools that I've come across have always given me trouble loading on account of minimal system requirements like .NET or Windows 2000 or XP. As much as I'm sure they are very useful, I am more interested in the ideas I have been holding onto, plus, I always wanted to do something like this for myself, and I found the time to start work on it.
Actually, I've been working on such an editor this past week. It is mostly bare-bones, but so far, it has begun to serve useful to me--and i'd really like to share my ideas with the members on this forum board.
I am just beginning to vear away from the virtualdub video editor, though mostly while I am debugging avisynth scripts. Right now, it is too combersome to have to edit in a notepad document and then save it, and then drag the assocated file into the virtualdub window. I've been doing it this way for years. And I also realize that some virtualdub editors do come with an script editor. And that's ok too, but they do tend to prove buggy at times. I've had a few bouts with it and given up on its usefulness. But for my daily functions, I need something a little more flexible and offers drag n drop functions for picular functions.
Anyway. I didn't want to bore you all with my ranting and what-not. So, I'll move on to my ideas and share them with you all here, and maybe post something basic, and as time moves on, maybe incorporate additional functions as I am able to build them and include them into the editor tool. I dont' want to provide anything too buggy. Well, some of you all know full well that beginning projects usually entails bugs. So we are past that phenomina by now.
Maybe a little later on, in the comming days (if not this weekend) I might have something worth posting up here for those curious about trying something new. I am not trying to replace your regular tools. But if you consider the ideas could be useful in some of your daily functions, than all the more fruitful in your video endeavors![]()
If anyone are interested in this project, feel free to have a look.
Happy New Year!

Hey vhelp. Sounds interesting. I'll help test when you are ready. What are you programming in...C,C++?

The ideas I have are a bit hard to explain. I think I will incorporate into tool and post when satisifed enough that it works as intented--coding in pascal..can't read c/c++..is too complex for my small brain
hmm..maybe I'll post ideas in a list and "x" those that I complete. Had a couple of ideas I wanted to work out and complete before I even considered posting anything..gui is messy, too..needs cleaning up a bit..and not bells--you know, no pretty/fancyschemanzy controls. If anything, I might post a few screen shots of tool in progress and see how that goes. I dont' know. I'm mostly busy debugging code along with ideas..theres' just too many of them. Oh well. Thanks to all that are shwoing interest.
