Any particular reason or are they just another advertiser?

Why does the world need Google Chrome?

I use Chrome, and even though it is still in Beta, I am very satisfied with it. It is very fast and responsive.

Maybe when Chrome supports plugins line Adblock and Flash Block and the multitude others that are available for firefox then I might try it again. I did try the beta, and yes it was fast, but the lack of being able to install those plugins are a downer for me.

The only thing Chrome does that FF doesn't is run each tab in it's own thread for better protection. If FF did that there would be little reason for Chrome's existence. Hell, even IE8 now runs separate and protected threads for each tab.

Doesn't it also make the window title bar disappear?

I've heard that Chrome also does a lot of preloading/caching/etc. behind-the-scenes, just to appear faster. Don't know if that's true, or not.
