Hey all, I have Vista and have a DVD with menus I created all ready to go. If I click on "Make DVD" in the Architect software to either burn the dvd or prepare it, it comes up with this window box - "The selected folder is not valid. It is either not possible to create the folder or you do not have write access".

It will do this no matter what folder I try to put it in. I have used this program with my old pc with XP no problems. I assume it's a setting in my Vista. Any help? Thanks.

DVD Architect 3 is a pretty old version, and certainly pre-Vista. You might try compatibility mode and set it for XP SP2, but the real solution is to upgrade to a new version or try an alternate authoring tool that does run under Vista.

Any recommends on a good cheap one with lots of customizability? I need to be able to create multiple menus just like a "hollywood" style dvd.

GUIForDVDAuthor is free, which is about as cheap you can get.

It is not the tool, it is the planning and the time spent creating the assets that gets you the 'hollywood'style menu. That said, many studio menus are nothing to write home about.
