    i want to rip dvd with black area included on res: 720x576 in 4:3 AR.
    what tools i need and where to find tutorials for the tool(S).

    Learn and use Avidemux, open the first main vob from the dvd(the first 1GB Vob file). Under video choose a codec like xvid, under audio mp3. And save as a new avi.

    If it's a commercial dvd then rip it to the HDD using DVDfab Decrypter first.
