I have a Panasonic PV-GS250. I just use the MotionDV Studio software that came with it 2 or 3 years ago. I think it is something like version 5.2.

I usually have the "Display date/time" option in the video, but when I use MotionDV to transfer the video to the computer via the USB cable, it never keeps the date/time. What am I doing wrong?

I should add that I am quite open to suggestions of better software. I am looking at getting VideoReDo just to burn stuff from my Tivo Series 3; I don't know if that would do the same thing as well or not.

    Thanks.

  2. you need to transfer the video using firewire (ieee1394) as you have a minidv cam. winDV is free and works well, enosoft has software that will record date/time i believe.

I can't find a firewire port on the camera. Reading the manual right now... it has a DV terminal and an S-Video terminal. Do I need to buy a new cable? The only firewire cables I have are the same at both ends.
