    No--they are simply text files (crap) created by the cracking/warez group known as DAMN. There is a app. that will view them called the DAMN NFO viewer. Have you been downloading crackz/hackz/warez/kegens? If so, that's where its from. Shame on you.

  3. If you change the file extension to a text file (eg. Blah.nfo to Blah.txt) you should be able to view it.

    They are basically readme files. So, yes, they are VERY important. Though their extension is NFO, you can just open them up with notepad on MS os's. NFO's spell out the details and/or instruction's on what an archive contains.

    Punk kids don't read nfo's.

  6. why can't I burn bin files with nero??? someone gave me a link from this site, and I tried it, but still have prob playing it.

    IF I open bin file with win media player I can watch it, but unable to rename it too.

    please help if you can.

  7. Nfo files are generally crack and warez files.

    but Microsoft did once use this extension as well for a information viewer. i dont think they use it much now though.
