I've an MPG and a TS. of the same satellite recording but can't get Tmpg to load either..
I'm guessing there is some DRM on there?? Anyone know how i can encode this to MP4(H264)??
I can keep it on the PC as is but the file size is LARGE... I generally like to code everything to minimise file size.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

is the TS from an HD set top receiver? If so it might be incompatible with most applications, which assume more "standard" transport streams. Try remuxing it with TsRemux (I've found it to be able to handle recorded TS's very well), then you could scan the file for errors with TS Packet Editor, via which you can also trim unwanted parts away and remux to TS or demux to elementary streams.
PS If the TS is split into smaller chunks, use TSSplitter in joining mode to get the whole content in one TS.Sorry, I had to go see about a girl
