  1. I have this strange problem with VirtualDub, it says that VirtualDub cannot open the file because it is of an unknown or unsupported file type when opening it from Audio\Audio from other file...

It plays fine in Windows Medial Player and VLC

Try this plugin. Place it in the plugins folder in Virtualdub.

  4. Any chance that anyone has this plugin? I know several ways of muxing AC3 audio in AVI; e.g. VirtualDubMod, AviMuxer, or just plain old ffmpeg or mencoder from CLI. However, I'd like to import AC3 audio streams with VirtualDub, just because I like the originality of this software. The link that was supplied in this thread is now dead. Would installing AC3Filter (Lite or Full?) enable me to import AC3 streams? I don't think so. Also, I've just installed AC3 ACM Codec, but it doesn't seem to enable me to import AC3 into VirtualDub. Ideas?

    EDIT:
I'm back. Now, a couple of hours of desperate searching later, I managed to find this thread, where some other fellow is looking for some other plugin made by that famous(?) "fcchandler" guy. I noticed "AC3_19.ZIP" and when clicking the download I prayed for this "pig in a poke file" to be the solution of my problem. You can probably guess my happiness when it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. Now, import of Dolby Digital files works a charm. Now, please disregard this mad necromancy on a almost four year old thread.
