I don't even know if this is posssible, to convert a Wave file to MP3 without changing length of the file. For example i downloaded this song from youtube, 9 minutes in length as a wave file, when i convert it to MP3 it's now 5 minutes in length. How do i retain the original duration of the song?

There is either a problem with the file, or a problem with the conversion software you are using, because converting from WAV to MP3 should not affect length.

Thanks Guns1inger I have tried with Xilisoft and EAC both cut the song by at least 2 minutes.

Xilisoft I wouldn't trust, but EAC should be OK. I suspect the file is not 100%, but has lost something in the download.

You could try something like this : http://www.convertmp3online.com/ to convert the original youtube clip directly . . . .

Ok Guns1inger i tried www.convertmp3online.com and it worked however it did not convert it to a MP3 file but rather a 3gp file. I was able to play it on my real player, after real player downloaded some additional files. I tried to convert the 3gp to a MP3 but again duration was cut from 7:55 to 5:00. There has to be a way t turn this into a legit MP3 file.

It does sound like there could be something wrong with the file. Perhaps you could run it through GSpot and post a screenshot of the results, here. I'm not sure it would help, but it might just help us see if there's something unusual about the file.

Guns1inger i got it now, all i had to do was select mp3 format under CONVERSION OPTIONS and it created the file in full duration. Thanks much, and thank you to Ai Haibara Happy Holidays!
