Hi forum, I'm not sure where to ask this, so forgive me if I'm in the wrong section.

You see, my english isn't native so I can't find a word to describe what happens to my WMV9 videos in order to search for it on google. That's why I'm asking you if someone can understand what's going on here.

And since I don't have words, here's how wmv are played on my pc:

It's like it's missing the "main" frames and just showing the "movements of pixels" [sure there is technical words for this but can't remember them]. Tried installing the wmv9 codec and nothing happens. I think this began to happen since I installed a wmv9 audio codec for dBPowerAmp but I'm not sure, besides audio is fine in the vids.

I also tried to change settings in the ffdshow configurations under wmv3/9 decoder but no option made any change.

And when disabling directdraw and then re-enabling it, the video plays fine. So I'm kinda clueless here.

    Thks in advance.

Probably a codec conflict or a corrupted codec. See if they will play in VLC Media Player. If so, that points to a codec problem as VLC uses it's own codecs.

    Hej, nice advice!

Let's see, in VLC the vids plays fine. Just some minor artifacts when skipping forward and backward, but I guess this is non-related stuff.

Uhm... so, this mean a codec conflict? Zoom player has a system to determine to left out some filters, but I have also this problem with stream wmv videos on webpages, so, what action should I take?

I don't use WMP or WMV files very often, so not very knowledgeable about them. I did see some suggestions that DirectX may be the problem. You could try updating that: http://www.softwarepatch.com/tips/howtodirectx.html

Nie, I have the latest stable launch of DX9, so the problem don't go that way. Anyhow it could be of great help if you or someone else could give me name for that problem so i could google it. The only word that comes to my mind is "garbled" but seems it's just related to audio problems.

Ok, nor the instalation of wmv 11 codec nor the reinstall of Dx9c Nov fixed the problem. I'm really clueless :/
