Hi there got a freeview box which has 2 scarts 1 for tv and 1 for vcr.
Unfortunataley it has no L and R audio outputs on the back (red and white cables) and i am trying to find a way of connecting it to my amp which has lots of L and R outputs available.
The amp is quite old and has no other audio types of outputs available.
The freeview box has a S/PDIF out connection on the back.
Is there any way of connecting this to my amp say S/PDIF cable to twin audio lead available or is there another way available via using say the scart leads.

    Many thanks

You can do it this way or tap audio off the VCR.

I have got one of those small scart devices with the red, yellow and white outlets(smaller photo).
Can you explain how i connect it to my freeview box.
I will only be using the scart to the tv connection(don't have vcr anymore).
    This means i have a spare scart(vcr).

I know nothing about your Freeview box. You said you have two SCARTs. Plug one into the vcr.

My freeview box just has 2 scarts as stated 1 for tv and 1 for vcr.
Only other outlet is a a S/PDIF out connection.
It is a Eurovox freeview box.
If i say plug one scart via tv to tv scart on freeview box and then plug a scart into the vcr outlet on freeview box(by using the small scart with the red, white and yellow outlets)as in small picture above.
Will this give me audio thru my amp if i only say plug into the red and white outlets in small scart box(small photo).

If you've got the right scart-phono adaptor (such as either of the ones shown in the picture) you should be able to connect from your freeview box VCR scart socket to your amp with standard phono leads.
You need to make sure you get an AV OUT adaptor, not an AV IN adaptor, or get an adaptor that is switchable between IN and OUT
