mAC3dec hasn't been updated in a while, and doesn't seem to be much help any more under 10.5.6. Are there more current solutions for converting ac3 files to AIFF? I've also encountered my first DVD audio disc, with 5.1 audio apparantly encoded as AOB files. I'd like to separate those to AIFF as well.

Unless there's a function in mpegstreamclip that I'm missing...

QuickTime Pro with Perian can export an AC3 file (or an AC3 stream in an AVI) as a 5.1 AIFF or as discrete channels, which I think is like one AIFF file per channel.

Yes! This does just what I need, and it works with Jaguar. Thanks!
